IN REMEMBRANCE ~ 25 YEARS

Before we look ahead to the weekend, we pause. Twenty-five years ago, our country changed forever, and South Jersey lost neighbors of its own. This Friday, our community gathers to remember them ~ with a ceremony in the morning and a walk at dusk, both close to home.

Gloucester County Patriot Day Ceremony | Chestnut Branch Park, Mantua | Friday, 8:30 AM
Held at the Place of Reflection, home to a steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center, the county's annual ceremony honors the three Gloucester County residents lost that day ~ John Rodak, Nick Brandemarti, and Perry Thompson ~ with bell ringings timed to the morning's events, a wreath laying, and words from local clergy. All are welcome.

Washington Township 9/11 Remembrance Walk | Washington Lake Park, Sewell | Friday, 6:00 PM
As evening falls, the Washington Township Fire Department, joined by township police, leads a remembrance walk through Washington Lake Park to honor all those lost ~ a quiet, reflective way to mark the day right here at home.

And with remembrance behind us, South Jersey rolls into one of the best weekends of the season. Fall festivals, apple picking, live music, a race right here in town, and even an airshow down the shore. Here's everything happening.

🍎 SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12

The Mock 5K & Mini Mock Dash | Gloucester Township Community Park, Sicklerville | 9:00 AM
Right in our own backyard, the inaugural Mock 5K welcomes runners and walkers of every age. There's a Mini Mock Dash for the littlest participants (ages 3–10), a fun zone, awards, and raffles ~ all to benefit the Mock Family Foundation, which supports young families after the loss of a parent. A meaningful morning and a wonderful reason to come together as a community.

Duffield's Apple & Food Truck Festival | Duffield's Farm, Sewell | 11:00 AM–5:00 PM
Fall officially arrives at Duffield's. Wander Food Truck Alley, hop the hayride out to the orchard for pick-your-own apples, and let the kids enjoy pony rides and face painting while live music plays all afternoon. A South Jersey tradition just up the road.

Monroe Township Fall Arts & Crafts Festival | Main Street, Williamstown | 10:00 AM–3:00 PM
Main Street becomes an open-air marketplace with 200+ artisans and crafters, food trucks, a petting zoo, pony rides, and face painting. Free, family-friendly, and pet-friendly ~ bring everyone.

Haddon Township Fall Festival | Crystal Lake Pool, Haddon Township | Noon–9:00 PM
A full day and night of fun. The Street Fair rocks West Park Boulevard from Noon–6 PM with rides, a car show, and kids' entertainment, while the Jam Fest at the Lake brings live music until 9 PM, plus a beer garden and the crowd-favorite apple pie baking and wing eating contests.

Down the Shore: Wildwoods Food & Music Festival + FREE Airshow | Byrne Plaza, Wildwood | 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
Feel like a shore day? Downtown Wildwood serves up food, craft vendors, a beer garden, and live bands ~ all free ~ and the FREE Wildwoods Airshow roars overhead both Saturday and Sunday. A perfect end-of-summer send-off.

Spaghetti Dinner on the Avenue | Station Avenue, Haddon Heights | 1:30–4:30 PM
A Haddon Heights Neighbors community favorite. Anthony's Creative Italian Cuisine cooks up a family-style feast ~ antipasto, salad, spaghetti & meatballs, dessert ~ while Vic Rubino sings the Sinatra and Bennett classics and the Kids Corner keeps the little ones busy. BYOB. Advance tickets required ($37 adults, $13 ages 2–12, under 2 free); arrive by 1:25 as dinner starts promptly at 1:30.

Celtic Thunder ~ An Evening with Celtic Thunder | Scottish Rite Auditorium, Collingswood | 6:00 PM (doors 5 PM)
Close out the weekend with the internationally beloved Irish singing sensation, live in Collingswood and presented by the Camden County Commissioners. Ticketed ~ grab seats before it sells out.

Mark your calendar now ~ a free, chip-timed 5K on a flat, fast course, with an HD finish-line video, awards, and an event shirt for every participant. One catch: it's free but spots are capped and you must register in advance, so don't wait to claim your bib.
